"bill-clinton-profile"William Jefferson Clinton, more commonly known as Bill Clinton was the 42nd President of the United States and is known for being one of the most controversial Presidents of the US.

Bill Clinton served as the president of the United States from 1993 until 2001 and is known as much for his relationships while in office as he is for his policies.

During his term as president Bill Clinton presided over one of the longest periods of peace and economic expansion in American history, this is of course countered by his notoriety and his finally being impeached while president.

Bill Clinton was born in Hope, Arkansas. His father tragically was killed in a car accident before he was born and his mother remarried with Bill taking the last name of Clinton as he has been born William Jefferson Blythe.

After graduating from Yale, Clinton then went on to teach law at the University of Arkansas. His first step into politics came in 1974 when he entered the election for the US House of Representatives.  He lost this election but successfully stood as Arkansas Attorney General two years later.

In 1978, Bill Clinton ran for Governor of Arkansas and was successful but lost the next term.  He did not give up on his dreams of politics however and ran again to be re-elected two years later and then managed to hold this position until 1992 when he became president.

Considering his political history, not many people believed that Bill Clinton would be able to win his presidential race against George H.W Bush but he was able to persuade the undecided voters to support him into office.

During his time as President Bill Clinton was able to boost the American economy massively to the point where he managed to balance the federal budget for the first time in years but it was his impeachment that led to him becoming one of the most notorious presidents of all time.

Clinton was accused of perjury and was later impeached in 1998, however the Senate did not agree with the House of Representatives and Clinton was able to remain in office.

Since Bill Clinton left the White House he has continued to be a very active speech maker and celebrity around the world, while he also worked closely with his wife Hilary Clinton in her bid to become president herself in 2008 – although this bid was in the end unsuccessful.

It is widely believed that Hilary Clinton will stand again in the next presidential election and her husband will be there to offer some invaluable advice.

I have seen him before. He does appear to be a very sincere president! Not sure why he did it (with Monica Lewinsky), a real shame.
